Hello to our beautiful Gray Duck Art Community!

Here at GDA we love your pets, we love encouraging your creative spirit, and we love our staff of artists. Every canvas we draw comes from real human hands, real imaginations, and real hearts. When you paint with us you’re carrying a tradition forward - art made by real people, for people. We pride ourselves on supporting our team of amazing artists who have poured their entire lives, studies, degrees, and hearts into their illustration backgrounds.

To preserve the integrity of and honor the tradition of art done with the old-fashioned way, we will not accept any photo submission that is believed to be AI generated.

We understand the urge to clean up old blurry images of a long lost pup, adding a bow tie to your beloved kitty, or putting a grill on your bearded dragon. If you have a special request for your painting, or if you are unsure if your photo of your pet will work due to blurriness, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Our artists have incredible capabilities in bringing just about anything back to life.

Why no AI, everyone else is doing it:

  1. Resources and websites that create images through AI source the work of actual artists, and the program takes bits and pieces of various artists to create your image (ie., they might generate an image based on Picasso, Monet, Khalo, etc.). This is done without the artist's permission, and as an artist-led business we cannot condone this. 

  2. Utilizing AI generated images for “art” leads to artists losing jobs. Businesses opt for a low cost AI imaging for their illustrations, and actively make it harder for artists to live off their own creative spirit.

A commitment to a 100% pure and custom product designed and produced by a team of REAL artists, earning REAL liveable wages. We encourage you to learn more about the folks behind your canvas on our about the team page.
